From Tin Mining Town to River Prawn Haven

Located between Kampar and Ipoh, Tanjung Tualang was once a bustling tin-mining hub during British colonial times. At its peak, over ten dredges operated in the area. The last surviving tin dredge,  TT5, now stands as a monument to that golden age.

As mining faded, the lakes left behind transformed into a new kind of treasure trovecrystal-clear waters ideal for breeding delicious freshwater prawns and fish. Today, Tanjung Tualang is celebrated as  The Land of Giant River Prawns.
